vCanCode partners with EDUonGo to promote coding in Hong Kong schools
eLearning platform helps spearhead coding across Hong Kong schools
Founded by a group of IT professionals and executives, vCanCode’s mission is to integrate software programming into Hong Kong’s core education curriculum. Powered by the EDUonGo platform, vCanCode provides teachers and schools with a learning system to modify coding courses and manage students. Customers are also provided with training to teach coding and to implement the flipped learning method.
“In our digitally-connected world, we believe everyone should learn at least a little bit of programming,” says Patricia Yee, vCanCode’s executive director. “Partnering with EDUonGo will help us enable schools and teachers to build their own coding courses. By simply signing up, users can create their courses in minutes.”
vCanCode will be participating in the global Hour of Code event by providing free online courses as well as supporting coding events at school locations across Hong Kong. Having successfully helped various organizations to become official partners of Code.org, such as Almooc, EDUonGo looks forward to helping vCanCode achieve similar success.
“There is a big movement to include computer science as part of the curriculum for elementary and high schools in the US,” says Ridvan Aliu, CEO of EDUonGo. “It is just a matter of time when schools in every country will teach coding like they do math and science.”
