Google Startup GRIND: 3 Tips to Help Keep You on Track
Ridvan Aliu
Earlier this month I flew to my home country in Kosovo to participate at a Startup Grind event. The event was held at the Innovation Center Kosovo (ICK), where hundreds of entrepreneurs gathered to hear from and network with fellow-entrepreneurs.
Startup Grind is a global startup community designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs. As one of the event speakers, I decided to share my story of launching a cloud-based learning platform and the valuable lessons I have learned as a business owner.
While the entrepreneurial journey brims with continuous lessons learned, the following are three points to help keep you on track to where you need to go.
Focus
Most entrepreneurs have the tendency to jump from one idea to another. It is very important to find one thing to be passionate about and stick with it.
Passion
Making money is not a passion; profit should be a byproduct of a successful business. While a lot of adapting takes place in the early stages of startup, keep a firm grasp on your passion and remember why you started the company in the first place.
Partnering
Because most entrepreneurs want to fly, it’s crucial to find a partner that will ground you. It may seem like a good to have partner that is a close friend or someone with a similar background, however, it is more valuable to have partner that is walking through a contrasting stage of live. They will give you a fresh approach on the issues you will face at your startup.
