Almooc uses EDUonGo to offer Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) to Albanians around the world

Non-profit providing free quality education to Albanians

Bellevue, WA September 25, 2014
Almooc, a non-profit organization that provides free education to Albanians, has partnered with EDUonGo, a cloud-based learning platform that hosts online academies.

Currently, Almooc provides education to over 10,000 Albanian-speaking students, offering courses in English, Math, Physics and Coding. EDUonGo will serve as Almooc’s primary learning platform from which instructors will deliver their online courses.

“I grew up in Kosovo,” says Ridvan Aliu, CEO of EDUonGo. “I am very excited to support Almooc’s vision by making free online education available to Albanians around the world.”

Courses are taught by working professionals and university professors. Universities such as Universum, Iliria, Pjeter Budi and Riinvest, have already joined the organization to offer their courses for free. Almooc is expecting to have 15 universities offering courses by early 2015.

“Almooc wouldn’t exist if it were not for EDUonGo,” says Agim Hajrizi, Almooc’s head of marketing. “While the platform allows us to easily scale to thousands of students, we hope to have one million enrolled by end of 2015.”
