Our partner is an Albanian Mooc that uses our platform to deliver online professional courses in the Albanian language for people of all ages. Students are trained with in-demand skills to help them compete in the local and international job market.
Almooc just recently hosted the highly anticipated Hour of Code event. And boy, was it a success!
As Code.org’s official chapter partner in Albania and Kosovo, Almooc is spearheading opportunity for Albanians to learn how to code at http://hourofcode.com/al.
Almooc has developed collaborative learning environments to bring students from different schools and countries together. They have partnered up with industry-leading companies and nonprofits, such as Microsoft and Code.org, to develop curriculum that is project-based and lead by IT instructors who have worked on internationally acclaimed projects.
Almooc is working to ensure young Albanians are given an opportunity to compete in the local and international job market. Recently, Mayor Lutfi Haziri of the Municipality of Gjilan signed a memorandum of understanding with Almooc to help promote STEM subjects in local public schools.
Almooc aims to be the first organization in the world to offer free-of-charge bachelor degrees in science and IT. The goal also includes lifelong learning opportunity for all of our students by keeping courses opened anytime a student wishes to refresh their skills.
All of this in under two years. Great job, guys, you’re doing fantastic.
